My Computer Wife To Be

2 weeks from today is the wedding. Its getting close! I'm getting very excited and can't wait. A while ago I had a post about my little nephew Isaac being in love with Amanda. He was all over her when he came to utah in July. Well when my sister melissa told him that Amanda and I were gonna get married he yelled "NO! I don't want her to be a computer wife!" A computer wife is from the show Spongebob Squarepants. Here is a little to clip to illustrate his frustrations.

Oh Deer

I guess its time for another update. Things with the wedding are going well. Its all coming together finally. We are going to get our marriage license today, and got our living ordinance recommends on sunday (well, I still need the stake president to sign mine, keep your fingers crossed). As of today we have 19 days left. I can't believe how fast/slow this engagement as gone. Looking forward in time you think its gonna go SO SO slow, but when you look back it has flown by. It was the same with my mission. So I'm very excited for the 21st.

Starting yesterday I was able to get a new shift at work. Previously I had been working nights from about 7 PM-1 AM. This schedule doesn't work too well when you have to get up every morning at 5:20 AM. Yesterday my shift started at noon and went until 5 PM. It was great! from now on that will be my shift on monday, wednesday, and friday. I'm excited to start getting some decent sleep again. It went to bed last night at 10:30 and it was so easy to get up this morning. Last week a few cadets were driving in the car together to our combat day (where we go up the canyon and play war games with air soft guns). One cadet started to complain about how when we go to field training this summer we have to go to bed at 9 PM and get up at 4 AM every day. Another cadet and I looked at each other and said simultaneously "that will be GREAT! thats a lot more sleep than I'm getting now." And so it was. But thats all behind me now.

On sunday night I had to go out and do some booting. I came home at midnight, but then got a call and had to go back out. When I came back around 12:45 there were 2 deer standing in my front yard. Luckily I had my camera in my car and snapped a few pics. Here they are.

Engagement Pictures

Last saturday we took our engagement pictures up at the Sundance Resort in Provo Canyon. It was much better than I thought it was gonna be. I really don't like being the center of a photographers attention, but it turned out to be ok. Here are just a few. We took like 200 or something ridiculous like that

This is the one I think we decided to send out in our invitations (which will be coming soon, I promise).

Eventually i just couldn't handle it anymore. I had to make a face.

My thoughts are not your thoughts...............Most of the time.

Today I had a little profound experience. I parked a few blocks from UVU cause all the parking was full at the institute when I drove through it. And I was walking along a street that overlooks the institute parking lot on my way to class. I looked out over the parking lot and noticed 2 free spots. For a split second I considered running back, getting my car, and trying to get a closer spot, but quickly dismissed that idea as "retarded." But as I kept looking at these spaces available i noticed a few cars enter the parking lot, and drive through, not noticing these spots. They drove down a different lane! I got a little frustrated. I wanted to yell to them that there were some really close spots just right there. I even saw one car just down the row parked, waiting for students to come out and leave so they could have their spot.

Then I started thinking about how Heavenly Father must feel like this a lot. We have great opportunities right around the corner if we would just take the time to seek them out. Not only that, but he sees everything. He wants us to succeed, and must get really frustrated when we make the wrong choices that would lead us in a different direction then where he wanted us to go. I'm sure parents feel this way many times as well. I just hope that I can live my life so that revelation will guide me in the way heavenly father wants me to go.

I love when Heavenly Father gives me little experiences like this where for a split second my thoughts ARE his thoughts. Just a little tender mercy. I hope that as these thoughts keep coming I can make my ways his ways. I guess that walking to school early in the morning is a good time to let the spirit speak to me. Back in march or april I had another experience like this about earth worms that i blogged about (you can check it out if you want to). I guess Heavenly Father knew that I needed a little something like this today in preparation for the starter on my car breaking and leaving me stranded at the school that very afternoon. I'm grateful for his love and Mercy, And that he sees the big picture for my life, even when I have a hard time seeing it.

Here I come to wreck the day

Many might remember the cartoon Mighty Mouse. He would always say "Here I come to save the day!" Well the other day I walked into my apartment and what did I find? A little brown mouse ran out from underneath the couch. In his confusion and the fact that he was running on a slick floor he slid around the wood floor before running into my bedroom. Well needless to say I was mad! So I went out and bought a few mouse traps and set them around the apartment. I read online that mice don't really like cheese, contrary to popular belief. They recommended putting peanut butter on the trap instead. Well, I did that. The next day I check my traps and the peanut butter was gone. Those dang mice are sneaky. Luckily I have caught one, but I think there might be more. The neighbors upstairs reported seeing one the other day in their apartment as well. And since our apartments are connected, they have taken over the house. So I'm not sure how they got the peanut butter off the trigger, but I'm gonna have to think of something else to get them. If you have any suggestions let me know.

I thought this picture was pretty accurate. Incase you didn't pick it up, its a spoof of Mission Impossible.

Standing for Something

I came across an old video I made and put on YouTube around this time last year. I made it because all the controversy of Proposition 8. I was mad because of so many members that were angry with the church leaders because they were taking a stand. Here it is.
